Police say person wanted in connection with shooting likely committed suicide

ESSEX COUNTY, N.Y. -- Police in Ticonderoga think the man wanted in a shooting over the weekend is now dead.

Police say Jimmy Joe St. Andrews, of Putnam, shot another man three times on Friday night on Montcalm Street. The victim was taken to Albany Med and is listed in stable condition.

Sunday afternoon, police say they found a body near Mount Hope Cemetery on Burgoyne Road in Ticonderoga. While they're still awaiting a positive ID, investigators say it's probably St. Andrews.
