STATEWIDE -- Hannaford Supermarkets is warning consumers about a meatball recall.

Officials said the product could be contaminated with listeria, which can cause food poisoning.

The meatballs are sold in the deli department and are made by Buona Vita. The products are the Homestyle Meatballs with sauce, sold by the pound, the Meatball Panini sold cold and the hot Meatball Panini.

If you bought any of these products, officials said you should not eat them, but return them to the store for a full refund. The affected products have been removed from store shelves.
