LENOX, Mass. -- An inn at a historic Berkshire County resort has reopens 19 months after it was ruined by fire.
Officials at the Cranwell Resort officially reopened the Carriage House Wednesday. A four alarm fire gutted the building in December 2010, bringing out 16 fire crews from throughout Berkshire County.
The new carriage house has 18 rooms and features many of the architectural details of its predecessor.
"It feels like we've gone at light speed in order to get the building back in place and frankly, it's a very short period of time for this to have actually happened," said Carl Pratt, Cranwell Resort General Manager.
The old Carriage House was more than 70 years old when it burned down.
Cranwell leaders would not disclose how much it cost to rebuild.
