MONTGOMERY COUNTY, N.Y. -- Amsterdam Police and the New York State Police are investigating the discovery of two bodies found in a wooded area in the Town of Florida.

Investigators spent the day Thursday collecting evidence on Snooks Corner Road.

Police aren't saying whether or not they believe the bodies belong to two missing teens from Amsterdam, but are pursuing every lead that they get.

Family members of the missing teens, Paul Danphier, 16, and Jonathan DeJesus, 13, were notified, but they say police has not given them clear answers.

"At this time, we are not speculating that these are the youths at the location. There have been several questions and phone calls about that information and it’s too early at this point to make that determination," said Lt. Kurt Conroy of the Amsterdam Police Department.

"What has your frustration been ever since this happened?” a reporter asked.

“Not knowing,” said Charles Tiano, a grandfather of one of the missing teens.

“Do you have any idea now what happened?” another reporter asked.

“No. Just hoping it ain't him," Tiano replied.

Police ask if you have any information, to call Amsterdam police at (518) 842-1100
