ALBANY, N.Y. -- Motorcycles revved up in Schenectady to support those who serve our country. The fifth annual Homeless Veterans Awareness Day motorcycle run went from the Sawmill Tavern down State Street and Central Avenue, ending at the Albany Veterans House.

The event raises money for the Albany Housing Coalition's homeless veterans services program. Members of the New York "Nomads" Motorcycle Club said they want to do all they can to help out their fellow veterans.

"We're firm believers that two words that should never go together in this county are homeless and veterans. These people fought and laid down their life for our country, and in some cases, our country abandoned them and we want to help," said Leon Pratt, President Albany Nomads Club.

The motorcycle club has raised more than $60,000 for Albany's Homeless Veterans Services, and even more if you include the clothing, wheelchairs, and other items they've donated.
