AMSTERDAM, N.Y. -- Several people have been evacuated from an apartment in Amsterdam after a truck plows through the building. Rescue crews were called to the Chestnut Hill Apartments just after 8:00 a.m. on Sunday. That is where they found a truck sitting in the living room of a first floor apartment in one of the buildings.

Firefighters tells us by the time they arrived, the driver of the truck had already been pulled from the wreck and has since been transported to an area hospital. It is unknown how many apartments were damaged, but we're told everyone has been evacuated from the affected building, and officials are now waiting for the building to be checked out before letting everyone back in.

The person who lives in the apartment tells us that nobody was in the living room at the time of the crash, and everyone is safe. Fire crews tells no other injuries, other than the driver, have been reported.
