State police identify body pulled from Mohawk River

GLENVILLE, N.Y. -- State police have identified the body pulled from the Mohawk River in the Town of Glenville.

State police said Richard Bennett, 41, of Galway drowned in the river. They said Bennett was the driver who ran from police after a traffic stop in the area of State Route 5 and State Route 103 on Thursday evening.

State police said the death was ruled accidental. Toxicology results are pending.
