WALKILL, N.Y. -- The 172nd Orange County Fair wraps up this weekend and organizers said they hope to go out on a good note, numbers wise. With rainy weather hitting the area on a regular basis, the 2012 fair attendance has taken a blow.

Organizers said overall the fair has been relatively successful this year though, with nicer days bringing more fairgoers than usual. However, the inclement weather has forced the fair to cancel events. Weather aside, some vendors also expressed concern about dwindling profits.

"I think we're probably running pretty close to the most days of rain during the annual fair," said Michael Gurda, Orange County Fair General Manager.

The fair continues from 2:00 p.m. through midnight for the rest of the weekend. Entrance is $8 for adults and $5 for kids, veterans, and senior citizens.
