Former detective sentenced for sexually abusing teen
ALBANY, N.Y. -- A former Albany police officer has been sentenced to six years in state prison after officials said he sexually abused a 15-year-old boy. This was his third time being sentenced.
Police said Paul Pierce abused a teenage boy over the course of two years starting in 2009 at Pierce's home in East Greenbush, a home in Albany, and at a camp in Chestertown.
Pierce pleaded guilty in Warren County Court to third-degree criminal sex act, was convicted in Rensselaer County, and pleaded guilty in Albany County a few weeks later. He was already sentenced to four years in Warren County and six years in Rensselaer County.
Pierce retired from the force in 2002 and was a D.A.R.E. officer for 23 years.
