CAPITAL REGION -- A local Olympian is out of the running for a medal.

Burnt Hills graduate Nick Delpopolo represented the U.S. in judo Monday morning. He was defeated in the quarterfinals in the Lightweight Division by a competitor from South Korea.

He did, however, move on to the Bronze medal rounds. That's where he lost to the Mongolian fighter.

Fellow Burnt Hill grad and Judo Olympian Kyle Vashkulat will compete later this week in the half-heavyweight division.
