FORT EDWARD, N.Y. -- The father who lost his six children in a house fire two years ago is found dead.

According to police, Lewis Carl Smith, 37, was found unresponsive in a vehicle late Saturday in the village of Fort Edward. Police said Smith was taken to a hospital, where he died Sunday morning.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Back in June 2010, a fire ripped through Smith's home in Fort Edward. Six of his children died. Officials said the fire started by a wrong fuse installed in first-floor outlet.
