HUDSON VALLEY -- It's a project that's been in the works for several years. Now, we're getting a clearer view of the Tappan Zee Bridge's future.

The Governor’s office confirms plans will include demolition of the existing three-mile bridge.

The final environmental impact statement on the project was released. The study reads the majority of materials for the project will be transported up the Hudson River instead of the Thruway to minimize traffic.

It goes on to state that noise activities will be restricted late night during the week and most of the weekend. Air pollution will be strictly monitored under a comphensive plan and the state plans to purchase new state-of-the-art exhaust controls that will reduce dust pollution.

The Thruway Authority is currently reviewing three proposals; a process that is expected to take several weeks.
