ALBANY, N.Y. -- McDonald's African American Family Day is taking over downtown Albany on Saturday. The celebration included music, food, and dance and the Empire State Plaza.
Several vendors offered a variety of different foods, and other goods for purchase. People enjoyed musical guests on three different stages throughout the day, with favorites like The Ohio Players, and Grammy winner Evelyn "Champagne" King performing. Local choirs, dance groups, and theater troupes also entertained.
For the kids there was pony rides, arts and crafts, clowns, and face painting. According to organizers, it is all in the name of celebrating the richness of African culture.
