TROY, N.Y. -- The victim of an assault on Fourth Street in Troy has died, and the case is now being investigated as a homicide.

The victim has been identified as Santos Bermudez, 40, of Fourth Street.

Police believe Bermudez knew his attackers and got into an altercation with them. He suffered injuries caused by blunt force trauma.

Police also say they believe everyone involved was an illegal immigrant.

No arrests have been made yet.
