NYACK, N.Y. -- The multi-billion dollar Tappan Zee Bridge project is being discussed at public meetings across the Hudson Valley.

The state is currently deciding between three proposals, one of which includes knocking down the old bridge and building a new one from scratch.

Governor Cuomo supports the construction of an entirely new span. He said continuing to pay the high costs of maintaining the old bridge doesn't make sense. Some residents are hoping the state will consider the other options.

The Thruway Authority plans on holding 50 to 100 of these community meetings in the coming months.
