SCHOHARIE COUNTY, N.Y. -- It was a night of dancing and music in Schoharie to celebrate the recovery from last year's flooding and raise money to continue the work.

Wellington's Herbs and Spices, a farm overlooking the Schoharie valley, hosted Friday night's event. The money raised goes to Schoharie Recovery, an organization dedicated to helping communities rebuilding homes and business flooded by Irene and Lee.

“It says a lot about the community. We knew even before the flood that it was resilient community, it's bounced back from adversity in the past. Unfortunately, 11 months later, a year later, we're all pretty tired and worn out. And nerves are frayed, patience is wearing thin, but we're all sticking together,” said John Poorman, Schoharie Recovery, Inc. Chairman.

So far, Schoharie Recovery has done an estimated $3 million worth of volunteer work.
