MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. -- If you're someone who's impressed with the way the City of Middletown's downtown business district is looking these days, you might want to thank Dave and Anna Madden.

Not only does this married couple run the Something Sweet Dessert Cafe on North Street, but they also organize the annual "Run 4 Downtown Road Race."

This year's race is Saturday, August 18th. And once again, all proceeds from the event will go towards a project which beautifies the city's downtown section. This year, though, the Maddens promise something a little different for their seventh annual run.

"The runners and walkers will take off at their normal 9 a.m. starting time. And immediately following, Demola and four of this fitness instructors are going to do an hour long Zumba event right here in the middle of North Street. We're going to have the runners and walkers finishing their event in the 9 o'clock hour. The Zumba event is going to be taking off and finishing up. And then immediately following ‘Tastes of the Town’ begins here on North Street. We have 16 restaurants who've committed already to bringing samples of their food and beverages," Dave Madden said.

One other change this year. Orange Regional Medical Center has now signed on to be the race's primary sponsor.
