Motorcyclist arrested for speeding on Route 17
LIBERTY, N.Y. -- A Liberty man has been arrested after state police said he was driving more than 100 miles per hour on his motorcycle while they chased him.
It happened yesterday on Route 17 in the Town of Mamakating. Troopers said Daniel Gonzalez, 25, was driving eastbound when he was clocked through radar.
Troopers said he didn't stop when they tried to pull him over, and continued on Route 17 toward Middletown. According to troopers, they lost sight of Gonzalez in the Town of Wallkill and later located his motorcycle in a ditch on the entrance ramp to Interstate 84 westbound.
Gonzalez was not injured and is facing reckless endangerment and unlawfully fleeing a police officer charges. He was arraigned and taken to Sullivan County jail.
