SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- A man is in custody after barricading himself inside his Schenectady apartment. Police were called to Foster Avenue Monday morning after two neighbors started arguing.

Police say they tried to talk to the upstairs resident, Steven Betulia, but he threatened to shoot officers through the door. Police had to use tear gas in order to get the man out of the apartment. Betulia was taken to Ellis Hospital for a mental health evaluation.

Officers say they have responded to the same apartment in the past.
