SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- State Police said an exotic bird that landed on the head of a recruit trooper this week is back home with his family.

The cockatiel landed on the recruit's hat during firearms training in Guilderland on Tuesday.

State Police said "Rocko" had flown away from his home in Schenectady but was reunited with his owner on Friday.
