HUDSON VALLEY, N.Y. -- An environmental group criticizes officials for giving only three day's notice for a key vote to approve the Tappan Zee Bridge replacement project.

The Riverkeeper group says the council's regulations require two weeks public notice for such meetings.

The New York Metropolitan Transportation Council announced Friday it had scheduled the meeting to approve the building of the $5.2 billion dollar replacement project on Monday. Council members say the meeting announcement has followed state requirements.

Federal officials have urged the council to vote on the project as soon as possible despite the lack of a detailed plan on how to finance the bridge.
