ORANGE LAKE, Fla. -- The family of the Latham girl who died while her family was vacationing in Florida has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Orange Lake Resorts.

In June, 11-year-old Ashton Jojo was electrocuted while retrieving a golf ball from a pond at the resort's miniature golf course.

The $27 million suit claims shorty after her death, an inspector found repair work done on the fountain was completed by a handyman within the company who did not have a proper permit.

The lawyer representing the family says they want someone to be held accountable for her tragic death.

Orange Lake Resorts has issued the following statement:

"We are aware of a lawsuit surrounding the tragic accident that occurred at Orange Lake Resort on June 27, 2012. Per company policy, we do not comment on pending legal matters. Our hearts go out to the Jojo family during this difficult time."
