WATERVLIET, N.Y. -- A public meeting is planned for Thursday night to discuss the revised development plans for the site of the old St. Patrick's Church in Watervliet.

The future of the site has been a hot topic in the area. A developer wants to get the block re-zoned for commercial use, and tear down the church to make way for shops and a supermarket.

Those against the development plans had wanted the century-old church to remain standing, as they tried to get it listed on the register of historic places earlier this year.

Thursday meeting begins at 7:00 pm at 1501 Broadway in Watervliet.
