ALBANY, N.Y. -- A child at St. Catherine's Center for Children got a newly made over bedroom.
A group of teenagers from Holy Spirit in East Greenbush get together each summer to volunteer their time in various places in the community. This year, they chose to do a makeover of a child's room at St. Catherine's. The group also raised money for supplies and has been hard at working getting the room ready.
"The child we met with discussed the room with SpongeBob, so it's Bikini Bottom. And our kids are painting a mural on the wall. Yesterday they painted all over, we got all the accessories to go in the room. It's going to be Bikini Bottom mania," said Tracey Penk-Masucci, Church of the Holy Spirit Youth Ministry Coordinator.
The teens say they had such a rewarding experience, they're already raising money to remake a second room.
