NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Funeral arrangements have been announced for the North Adams solider killed earlier this month in Afghanistan.

Michael Demarsico, a member of the Army, was killed by an IED. He was a 2010 graduate of Drury High School in North Adams and had been stationed in Afghanistan since February 2011.

This coming Wednesday, at 12:30 p.m., a motorcade carrying his body will arrive in North Adams.

Calling hours will be held Friday at the Flynn and Dagnoli Funeral Home from 2 until 7 p.m., with a funeral to follow at the First Baptist Church on Main Street on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Demarsico will be buried at Southview Cemetery.
