BERNE, N.Y. -- Some Albany County residents capped off the weekend with a night of celebration as they look back on life since Tropical Storm Irene hit last year.

Fireworks lit up the sky in the town of Berne Sunday night. Residents said they're proud of the way their community worked together after Irene hit and that celebrating with fireworks is a Berne tradition they haven't seen in at least five years.

County officials say the Hilltowns have recovered about 80 percent of the damage left by Irene.
