QUEENSBURY, N.Y. -- School and health officials are urging precautionary medical procedures for members of the Queensbury High School football team after a 16-year-old athlete was hospitalized with what the Superintendent characterizes as a serious infection.

The Superintendent tells us the school’s crisis team met Tuesday evening, but could not provide an update of the student’s condition. He’s being treated at Albany Med.

The school’s physician and the Warren County Health Department are actively involved and will offer voluntary preventative medication to the student’s teammates Wednesday morning.
