Body of North Adams soldier returns home

A community pays its respects to a a North Adams soldier who was killed in Afghanistan. Private First Class Michael Demarsico's body returned home Wednesday. Our Lori Chung has more from North Adams.

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The body of a North Adams soldier returned home Wednesday. Private First Class Michael Demarsico was killed in Afghanistan earlier this month.

A motorcade will take his body down Route 2 and stop briefly at Veterans Memorial Park before continuing on to the Flynn and Dagnoli Funeral Home.

Calling hours will be Friday at the funeral home from 2 to 7 p.m., with a funeral to follow at the First Baptist Church on Main Street at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Demarsico was a 2010 graduate of Drury High School in North Adams and had been stationed in Afghanistan since February 2011.
