WATERVLIET, N.Y. -- There's just hours left until the start of the high school football season.

One team looking to continue their success from last year is the Cannoneers of Watervliet. Watervliet made it to the sectional semifinals last season before getting beat by eventual state semifinalist Hoosick Falls.

Watervliet ended the season 6-2 overall and despite losing 15 seniors to graduation, the Cannoneers look to have reloaded for another playoff run this year.

Taylor Dockstader replaced three-year starter Brandon Legault under center this season and despite being just a junior, Head Coach Erick Bernard likes what he's seen from his quarterback so far.
