COLONIE, N.Y. -- New York State Police and local law enforcement want to remind drivers to be safe as they head out on the road this weekend. Police said Labor Day weekend is always one of the busiest times on the state's roads and highways.

Troopers will be out in full force throughout the holiday weekend, helping motorists, and enforcing vehicle traffic laws. Last year, more than 2.6 million vehicles traveled more than 93 million miles on the Thruway over the weekend.
