Two shot in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Schenectady police are investigating a shooting that left two young men injured with gunshot wounds. It happened on Summit Avenue shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday.

Police said three males approached 419 Summit Avenue and opened fire with a shotgun and handguns then took off in a vehicle.

A 24-year-old and a 19-year-old were both shot, but their injuries are not considered to be life threatening. They were taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment.

Police said neither of the victims live at the address where the shooting took place and the motive is not known at this time.
