QUEENSBURY, N.Y. -- Friends, family and community members gathered to remember the life of Jonathan Vasiliou.

Calling hours for the sixteen-year-old were held at the Reagan Denny Stafford Funeral Home in Queensbury.

Fellow athletes that played football with Vasiliou at Queensbury High School attended the wake wearing their jerseys.

The would-be Queensbury high school junior died last Tuesday of an unknown infection at Albany Medical Center. Vasiliou was thought to have some kind of bacterial meningitis, but testing was not conclusive.

A funeral mass will take place Tuesday morning at Our Lady of Annunciation Church. A burial will follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jonathan R. Vasiliou Memorial Scholarship through Queensbury High School.
