ALBANY, N.Y. -- Albany police say a 22-year-old man is in stable condition after being shot in the back of the head with bird shot.

The man had already been taken to Albany Med by someone in the area by the time officers got to Second Street and North Lake Avenue just before midnight Sunday.

No arrests have been made, but police say the investigation is ongoing.
