Now that track season has wrapped up, many tourists are preparing to leave Saratoga for the summer. Our Beth Croughan visited Broadway to find out what that means for businesses.

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- Each year, tourists travel to Saratoga Springs during track season.

"It's the summer place to be, as they would say," said Kevin O'Sullivan of Floral Park.

"It's the August place to be," said Stephen Fay of Rhode Island.

"Oh, we come down every Labor Day weekend. It's great. We go to the races, we shop, we walk around," said Mitch Weiler of Long Island.

But as Labor Day marks the end of the 2012 meet at the Saratoga Race Course, what happens to busy Broadway and the rest of downtown?

"Fortunately for us, we don't just, things don't come to an end when racing season finishes in Saratoga Springs. We keep going straight through," said Jason Lynch, the General Manager at the Olde Bryan Inn.

Lynch said the lunch crowd at the Olde Bryan Inn comes back and the convention center calendar brings business too.

"September and October are jam-packed full of events," he said.

Those are the months when Roslyn Zecchini said she sees locals who lay low in the summer.

"They don't want to wait in line, or you know, all these kinds of things. So, I think now, it's time for us to really give back to them and provide the service that you know, they're our, they keep us going all year-round," said the Executive Chef at Boca Bistro.

And year-round, Sara Ellis said things stay steady. That's because they say there's something for everyone each season in Saratoga.

"We have like the fall peepers that come up to see all the foliage. As long as we have a great fall. The winter time, everyone traveling through to go up to Lake Placid and you know, to go to Gore and everything. I think it stays pretty steady in general," said the owner of Dawgdom.
