REXFORD, N.Y. -- One of the wealthiest women in America has donated a $450,000 grant to Hannah's Hope Fund.

Doris Buffett is the founder of the Sunshine Lady Foundation and sister of famed billionaire investor Warren Buffett.

The fund is named for Hannah Sames, a Clifton Park girl who has a rare genetic disorder called Giant Axonal Neuropathy. GAN takes away one's ability to walk and talk, and it can be terminal.

The grant will help pay for a clinical trial, which costs $900,000. The trial is slated to take place next spring.
