Woman arrested after leaving scene of accident that injured bicyclist
RENSSELAER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Hoosick Falls woman was arrested after State Police say she left the scene of a serious accident. It happened on State Route 22 in the Town of Hoosick early Monday morning.
According to State Police, the victim, Matthew Ratelle, 39, of Petersburg, was riding his bicycle in the shoulder when he was struck by a vehicle and thrown about 30 yards. Despite wearing a helmet, he suffered serious injuries and remains at Albany Medical in critical condition.
Becky Goodermote, 37, is accused of leaving the scene without calling police. She now faces charges, including leaving the scene of a serious personal auto injury and driving while impaired by drugs. More charges are pending.
