Teen stabbed in fight on Central Avenue

ALBANY, N.Y. -- A fight in a Burger King parking lot led to the stabbing a 17-year-old high school student.

Albany Police say it happened on the 400 block of Central Avenue in Albany Wednesday afternoon.

Officers on patrol say they saw a large group of kids fighting in the street a little after 3 p.m. They say the 17-year-old boy, who lives on Second Street, had been stabbed in the left side. He was treated at the scene and taken to Albany Medical Center with non life threatening injuries.

There is no word yet on the events leading up to the fight.
