Traffic Alert: Construction, events could cause delays

Twin Bridges construction
Road work is expected to begin tonight on the Twin Bridges. Beginning at 10 p.m. the northbound lanes will be shutdown. Traffic heading north will cross over onto the southbound side of the bridge with one lane going in each direction.

Both sides of the bridge will reopen fully by Monday at 5 a.m. The project will go for six consecutive weekends, with the exception of the Columbus Day weekend.


Labor Parade
September 7th, 2012 5:00 P.M. and 6:30 P.M. the following streets will be closed to traffic for the formation and procession of the “Labor Parade” vehicles:
Washington Avenue between South Swan Street and Eagle Street
North Hawk Street between Washington Avenue and Elk Street

The parade will step off at approximately 5:45 P.M. and travel east on Washington Avenue to State Street and continue north on Broadway concluding in the area of Pine Street.

Community Block Party
September 8th, 2012 between the hours of 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. Sheridan Avenue between Dove Street and S. Swan Street will be closed to all traffic. Parking will also be prohibited on both sides of this block during these hours.

Dunkin Run
September 9th, 2012 between the hours of 8:00 A.M.- 10:30 A.M., the following streets will be closed to all traffic for the “Dunkin Run”
Whitehall Road from Matilda Street to Bancroft Street
Westford Street from Whitehall Road to Hackett Blvd
Hackett Boulevard from Bancroft Street to Picotte Drive
Picotte Drive from Hackett Blvd to Whitehall Road

The following streets will have parking restrictions on September 9, 2012 from 6:00 A.M.- 11:00 A.M. for the “Dunkin Run”
Whitehall Road from Matilda Street to Westford Street
Westford Street from Whitehall Road to Hackett Blvd
Picotte Drive from Hackett Blvd to Whitehall Road

Teal Ribbon Run/Walk
Sunday September 9th, 2012
Washington Park – All Park roadways will be closed to all traffic from the hours of 6:00 A.M.- NOON. Parking will be prohibited on all Park roadways during these hours.
