ALBANY, N.Y. -- There's a push to amend Albany's controversial Cabaret Law. Common Council Member Anton Konev said he will be introducing an ordinance on October 1.
The bill would prohibit the city from issuing both time restrictions on live entertainment, and forbidding minors from establishments after a certain time, as long as those places have permission from the State Liquor Authority.
Other council members are against the ordinance though. In an email, the law's sponsor, Daniel Herring, said it would do away with the law's original intent, which is to allow for the protection of residential neighborhoods.
