RENSSELAER, N.Y. -- A benefit is held for Tech Sergeant Joe Wilkinson on Sunday. The motorcycle rally raised money to help build the Air Force veteran a handicap accessible smart home.

More than 400 motorcycles took part in the ride through southern Rensselaer County. Wilkinson is a Lansingburgh native who was wounded overseas. He said he appreciates the community's effort to help him live life more comfortably.

"It means the world to me and my family. Like I said, there are no words for it," said Wilkinson. "I mean I've never seen anything like it. It's so hard to thank everyone because there's so many people, but I just wanted to get the thank you out to everyone who has supported us over the last year."

The group completes the ride at Birch Hill, and will continue raising money and support for Wilkinson with live music, food, raffles, and an auction. Wilkinson hopes that after Sunday's fundraiser, they will have enough money to complete the project.
