PRATTSVILLE, N.Y -- The Route 23 Bridge over the Schoharie Creek in Prattsville is temporarily closed. State DOT crews were on the scene Tuesday inspecting the bridge.

The bridge closed Monday after officials found cracking in a steel support beam. The DOT says they expect the closure to last for several days, if not longer.

Crews will now do a structural analysis to determine what repairs are needed.

In the meantime, drivers are being detoured using State Route 23 and County Routes 7, 39, and 53.
