ALBANY, N.Y. -- Albany's School Board is holding a special session this afternoon to vote on their new superintendent. The board will vote on the appointment of Doctor Marguerite Wyngaard.
Wyngaard has been as senior administrator for the past eight years in New Jersey's Paterson Public Schools. Since she does not hold a school district leader certificate in New York, the district has to get a special waiver from the state to go ahead with the appointment.
Wyngaard was selected after a six-month search to replace Raymond Colucciello, who had been the interim superintendent since 2009.
