TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- The state is closer to making some of the necessary decisions to move forward with the building of the new Tappan Zee Bridge.

State officials say they finished the technical review for three construction bids for the project. While they say they have an estimate on the three proposals, they aren't releasing the figures just yet.

"Under federal law, we are not allowed to put that out until some negotiations happen, but we are trying to make this process as open as we can under federal law, which is very restrictive," Brian Conybeare said.

Officials say we could find out the details of the proposal in about two weeks. An election committee will review and recommend which proposal fits best for the needs of the Thruway Authority.

The Thruway Authority will make the ultimate decision on which bid will be used.
