DELMAR, N.Y. -- Incumbent Senator Neil Breslin cast his vote Thursday in the race for the newly drawn 44th District.
Breslin voted at Bethlehem Town Hall in Delmar and was joined by his wife, Ellen.
Breslin is currently serving his eighth term in office representing the former 46th District, covering Albany County.
"I have passed more legislation than any democrat over the last 15 years. I led the fight against bad people being in the Senate. I’ve risen to the second highest level in the democratic conference. I have never had an issue of character or ethics," Breslin said.
The newly drawn 44th District covers parts of Albany and Rensselaer counties.
His challenger, Albany County Legislature Chairman Shawn Morse, will vote Thursday evening.
