RENSSELAER, N.Y. -- A boil water advisory has been extended for the city of Rensselaer. This advisory went into effect after a car hit a fire hydrant on Washington Avenue on Thursday.

The advisory affects Washington Avenue from 90 east to Route 4, as well as Van Allen Park and Eastland Park to the Mansions.

No word yet on when the advisory will be lifted.
