SARATOGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Be prepared for big delays on the Northway this weekend.

Starting at 8 p.m. Friday, the northbound lanes of the Twin Bridges will close to traffic for deck replacement work. This is the second weekend crews will be working on the bridge.

During the closure, traffic will be rerouted over onto the southbound bridge, which will carry one lane of traffic in each direction.

There were long lines in both directions in this area last weekend. Drivers should plan for extra time or to find alternate routes.

The area is expected to re-open before the morning rush hour on Monday. However, there were delays this past Monday and the lanes did not reopen in time, creating a traffic nightmare for some commuters.

The project is slated for six consecutive weekends, with the exception of Columbus Day weekend.
