MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. -- A building in Middletown will have to be torn down after a fire on Sunday. The fire broke out on Montgomery Street around 1:00 p.m.
Firefighters said the condemned building used to hold apartments, but was unoccupied. Officials said the fire started between the roof and third floor, and eventually the roof collapsed.
Two firefighters were treated for smoke inhalation, and one had a cut to the hand. No one else was injured. Fire officials said the building will have to be torn down. The cause is still under investigation.
