ALBANY, N.Y. -- Police are finding new leads in a motorcycle accident that sent a 14-year-old pedestrian to the hospital on Saturday night.

Police responded to the accident around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday at Washington Avenue and West Lawrence Street. According to officials, the bike cut across four lanes of traffic and hit a teenage boy in the crosswalk.

Police are now saying that the rider, Michael Preville of Colonie, is the same motorcyclist that patrol officers saw violating several traffic laws earlier that same evening.

Officials say when an officer stopped to tell Preville he was going the wrong way down a one-way street, he sped off onto West Lawrence Street away from the officer and hit the teen.

According to police, Preville has 14 suspensions on his license and charges for this incident are expected.
