ALBANY, N.Y. -- Albany police say a medical condition is to blame for a fatal crash.

Police say George Chrysogelos, 86, was driving a van along New Scotland Avenue Monday when it crashed into a tree. He was taken to Albany Med, where he later died. His passenger was taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Police say an autopsy shows Chrysogelos had a medical episode just before the crash.
