PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- A fallen member of Pittsfield's bravest will be forever remembered.

Todd Lange's name will be engraved on the National Fallen Firefighters' Memorial in Maryland. He died last summer after a long-time battle with Hepatitis C. The firefighter contracted the virus while performing mouth-to-mouth on a cardiac arrest victim more than 30 years ago.

Fellow firemen shared their memories.

“Sometimes, we dealt with some very difficult situations and Todd was somebody that you could turn to and express those feelings and he'd understand and try to make it better for you,” said Michael Polidoro, Deputy Chief of the Pittsfield Fire Department.

Lange's wife, Pamela, and his two sons, Patrick and Todd, plan to attend the ceremony on October 7.
